Baby Emma Blog

In keeping with a promise to myself, I’ve decided that the only way to keep an account of the first few weeks of Emma’s birth is to blog it with daily discourse and late night meanderings!

Oh The Pain..!

Emma smacked herself today. Let me explain. We put a rattle in one of her hands, and a soft toy in the other. We're teaching her to grip things and get that hand-eye coordination thing happening. She seemed quite excited about these things in her hand, and you can tell she wants a closer look at them. And she knows that if she can will her arms towards herself, then she can make it happen. But....BONK! She smacked herself in the head. Luckily it was the soft toy. But you should've seen her face change from one of determination to one of shock and then finally on to crying. Poor thing! Ah, the growing pains!

ODD SPOT: The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from an old English law which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb.

P.S: You should see the "rule" Lill uses to beat me...!
