Once In A Lifetime
We went to the Andrea Bocelli concert last night. For us, this was the highlight of the year (except for Emma's birth of course). We had to park so far away it took us 20 minutes to walk to the Rod Laver venue. But we got there just in time, and from the moment the orchestra started to the final ovation, it was nothing short of pure magic wrapped in stereo! Andrea Bocelli was brilliant and yet unassuming in his manners and demeanour, despite his superstar status; the Italian soprano, Maria Luigia Borsi, who accompanied him, was an amazing woman whose voice was fantastic. The first song she sang, O Mio Bambino Caro, you could tell the entire audience was stunned by her rendition, and showed it in their applause! And then at the end when Andrea Bocelli sang three of my favourite songs as encores (Sogno, La Preghiera and Con Te Partiro)...well, let's say a lifetime dream had been fulfilled! I know this has nothing to do with Emma or the twins, but I believe this will make an excellent story for me to tell the girls when they're older!
