Baby Emma Blog

In keeping with a promise to myself, I’ve decided that the only way to keep an account of the first few weeks of Emma’s birth is to blog it with daily discourse and late night meanderings!

Houdini

When we put Emma to bed, we wrap her up in a bunny rug using a technique called the “Houdini Wrap”. It’s a complicated wrap, in which you wrap your baby snugly in their bunny rug with their arms and legs inside the rug. The result is a baby bundled so tightly that they feel secure and comfortable and therefore sleep better. It also has strait-jacket qualities that only Houdini can get out of! Well, meet Emma, the the smallest Houdini in the world! I don’t know how she does it, but she manages to get out of the wrap each and every time. Whenever she cries and we go in there, she has her chubby little fists sticking out of the wrap with a face that clearly says, “Ha! You call that a wrap! I laugh at your feeble attempts!!!” I think I’ve been watching too much T.V…

ODD SPOT: More people are killed annually by donkeys than die in air crashes.
