Baby Emma Blog

In keeping with a promise to myself, I’ve decided that the only way to keep an account of the first few weeks of Emma’s birth is to blog it with daily discourse and late night meanderings!

Jealousy

For those of you who’ve seen the photos, you’ll notice that everytime I hold Emma, I’m surrounded by the twins. And in fact, this is almost everytime I hold Emma. It’s a combination of wanting to be closer to Emma and being jealous that I’m holding her and not them. But mind you, up until now, it’s really been the one of two indications so far that they see Emma as a rival. The other indicator was that for a while, Jessica had regressed in her toilet training, but that seems to be getting back on track. As it is, when Emma develops and starts becoming more specific about needs and wants, the dynamics of the whole jealousy thing will again change and expand. Rivalry between the twins I’ve learnt to handle, but rivalry between the three of them…damn, this ol’ dog better learn some new tricks!
